Matching Worksheets for Kindergarten Ideas, So Fun

In choosing games that have great benefits for stimulating the development of the little one’s brain, I like to look for references from the internet. Apparently, the types vary, from traditional games, stacking blocks, or houses. With the current pandemic situation that requires children to study at home, it never hurts to try to make their own toys for their little ones.
Creative Ways to learn Word Matching for Kindergarten
The following are some creative methods that can be applied at home with your child. It can also be with friends so that it is more fun to learn word matching.
1. Fruit Card (For Age 10-12 months)
You can buy this game at a bookstore or you can make your own using things you have at home. The equipment that needs to be prepared is:
Plain drawing cardboard/paper (scissors-like business cards).
Scissor.
Drawing tools (colored pencils or crayons).
How to play:
First, draw various fruits (two or more images each) on the paper you cut out beforehand. So that it is easier for your little one to recognize the image to be matched, you should use a different color. For example red apples, bananas, and melons.
Once finished, place each image in a row. Then, ask your little one to look for a partner from the picture and place them according to the appropriate pair.
Don’t forget to give praise, Mom, if your little one manages to choose the right pair of pictures!
2. Matching Fabric Motifs (For Ages 12-24 months)
Have a patterned cloth that is no longer used? If so, you can make a toy creation for your little one. First of all, you need to prepare the following equipment:
Patterned patchwork (provide 3 to 5 motifs if available).
Scissor.
Drawing paper/plain cardboard (size can be customized).
Glue.
How to play:
For starters, cut the patchwork into squares or circles with the same motif.
After that paste in a row on cardboard. Make sure you leave enough distance so your little one doesn’t get confused when matching.
If so, invite your little one to play by matching the fabric motifs that you have attached to the ones you are still holding.
The pattern matching game is over! Easy isn’t it? Well, if when playing your little one looks like he is confused or having trouble, try to help him, okay? The reason is, he could be confused because there are similarities both in terms of color and pattern on the fabric.
3. Colored Words (Age 24-36 months)
Actually, this game is similar to how to play with fruit cards. The difference is, making some words with different colors which will then be matched by the little one. The things that need to be prepared are the same, Mrs., namely:
Plain drawing cardboard/paper (scissors-like business cards).
Scissor.
Drawing tools (colored pencils or crayons).
How to play:
Before you begin, write a few words on paper that you cut out in different colors.
Once finished, place each of the previous posts in a row. Then, ask your child to look for pairs of these words and put them based on the appropriate pair.
While playing, you can at the same time teach him how to read. Therefore, try to choose words that are not too long so that they are easy for him to remember. For example you, two, and smell.
If he looks confused while playing, don’t worry. You have to stay patient and continue to support your little one during this playing and learning process, OK?
