One of the branches of mathematics is counting. Although it is a branch of mathematics, counting is found in almost all branches of mathematics such as algebra, geometry, and statistics. Numerical ability is the ability to perform arithmetic operations or counting.
Numerical skills include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and manipulate numbers and mathematical symbols. Mathematicians state that numerical ability is very important in solving story problems. Numerical abilities possessed by students will provide a fast and precise way of calculating math problems, including multiplication and division.
One of the mathematical skills that must be mastered by elementary school students is the ability to perform arithmetic operations, especially multiplication. Multiplication with the symbol “x” or “.” is a basic arithmetic process in which a number is multiplied according to its multiplier. Multiplication is a repeated addition operation. Therefore mastery of mathematics is absolutely necessary and mathematical concepts must be understood correctly and correctly from an early age.
Multiplication is a basic arithmetic process in which a number is multiplied according to its multiplier which serves as a symbol for repeated addition operations. In general, the symbol for the multiplication operation is “—” which is called the “cross sign”, to make it easier to write multiplication operations, it can also be symbolized by the “.” called “dot operators”. In the learning process, to make it easier to calculate a multiplication, a 1-10 multiplication table is usually used.
While the division is one of the arithmetic operations (basic mathematical operations) which is the opposite of the multiplication operation. The division operation is used to calculate the quotient of a number with respect to its divisor. The symbol of the division operation uses the symbol for “—” or the slash “/”.
Multiplication and division can not be left out in everyday life. Learning for children from an early age about multiplication and division is very important. Therefore, always train children with basic introductions and try new questions every day. The following are examples of multiplication and division problems that you can apply to your child at home.
